An object of refinement and decoration, Japanese ceramics experienced a new boom in the 1920s, when Soetsu Yanagi, Japanese thinker and collector, theorized mingei, thus giving new impetus to craftsmanship and so-called popular arts. This reassessment of the place of ceramics is bearing fruit: the works of the artists that we present now find their place in the greatest museum collections.
