Yui Tsujimura 辻村唯
Yui Tsujimura, born in 1975, is the son of master potter Shiro Tsujimura and older brother of Kai Tsujimura. He was undoubtedly influenced by his family when it came to his artistic practice, visual language, and overall approach to ceramic arts. Unlike his father and brother, Yui developed his own visual style, focusing primarily on on the use of a particular blue-green ash glaze.
Yui uses feldspar-rich clay from Shigaraki and Iga and draws inspiration from the unglazed stoneware techniques and aesthetics of early medieval Sue ceramics.
Yui Tsujimura enjoys excellent notoriety in Japan, but also internationally.
