Chisato Yasui 安井ちさと
Chisato Yasui, born in 1984, is an artist specializing in ceramics and mixed media and received a master's degree in art and design from Tsukuba University in 2010. She is one of the few female ceramic artists in Japan and has been selected to participate in the Woman's Association of Ceramic Art exhibition in 2021, aiming to bring works by women ceramicists into the Kyoto Museum's collection. Chisato Yasui works with the process of "coil forming" (construction by hand). It is a ceramic forming method that allows the axis of a shape to be moved during the creation process, to cut and separate a shape, but also to combine completely different shapes, and to reverse the top and the bottom.
